About The Ferrers School

The Ferrers School is a mainstream secondary academy for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, and there are just under 1,000 pupils on its roll.

We care passionately about our staff, their well-being and their professional development and this is reflected in the fact that we are an enthusiastic team, committed to working collaboratively and sharing the very best practice.  We are seeking ambitious candidates who are keen to develop further and, as such, are committed to providing excellent CPD for the development of staff.  We are striving for the very best for our students and we are focussed on and passionate about learning.

This is an exciting time to be joining  the the school.  We have secured improving  outcomes over the last 3 years which were validated in our recent Ofsted report (July 2021) where The Ferrers School was found to be Good in all areas. These five areas are: ‘The Quality of Education’, ‘Behaviour and Attitudes’, ‘Personal Development’, ‘Leadership and Management’, and ‘Sixth Form Provision’.

The Ferrers School motto is “Aspire, Achieve, Acclaim” and it is on these three values that its ethos is based. The school strives to instil the highest aspirations in each individual pupil and to help them gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. Teachers believe that all children can achieve their very best with the help and guidance of the school. Pupils are encourage to celebrate their achievements and those of their peers.
