Job overview

Vision for Education requires an outstanding teacher to provide 1:1 tuition to children with social and emotional issues within a large primary school in South Tyneside. The relevant teacher must be highly motivated and committed to providing outstanding learning opportunities, whilst nurturing and supporting the child’s social development. This is a full time position and suitable for NQT’s.

In this role teachers will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with children who have severe social, emotional and behavioural issues. The teaching will take place in an isolated learning environment, with the help of a support assistant, due to the children’s negative response within the mainstream setting. Duties will include; delivering lessons on an individual basis, building strong working relationships with the children, identifying the interests of the children and making learning interesting and relevant, creating a stimulating learning environment, impacting on the children’s social and behavioural progression.

The school would like to receive applications from teachers who are determined to provide a high standard of education, ideally with evidence of ‘outstanding’ teaching. Experience of working with children with various types of SEN, in particular SEBD and associated learning difficulties will be essential. Evidence of CPD to support teaching children from socially deprived backgrounds, children with safeguarding issues, or children who have been in care would be highly desirable.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team. Working with outside agencies and other professionals will be included in this role, as well as dealing with the children’s parents. Excellent observation, organisation and report writing skills will be essential.

If you are passionate about providing outstanding teaching and learning opportunities, and are currently looking to join a highly successful and motivated school, then please submit your CV and Covering Letter to Jonathan.Weetman@visionforeducation.co.uk or call on 0191 267 4555.
