Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Maths specialist to a 2nd in charge of Maths department role in our very successful 11-18 school. You will teach and inspire students across all Key Stages, including KS5.

Rated outstanding by Ofsted in February 2015, Central Foundation is in the top 50 schools in the country based on GCSE outcomes. In 2014, 84% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths. In Maths, 93% of the GCSE students achieved A*-C and the progression rate was 92%. 34% of Year 11 students achieved A/A*. These outstanding results put our Maths department in the top 2% of all Maths departments in the country.

The behaviour of students is outstanding and the disciplined environment allows the teachers to focus on delivering great academic outcomes.

We are very ambitious in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. We set high standards for all professionals working at the school but we also provide a very strong net of support for both new and existing colleagues.

Central Foundation is:

  • an outstanding school (Ofsted, February 2015)
  • a school that is situated in a vibrant multi-cultural environment next to the ‘silicon roundabout’ on the edge of the City of London.
  • not a typical boys’ school, over half the staff are female.

Ethnic minority applications are welcomed to provide further balance to our staff.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.

If you are interested in this post and would like to find out more about the role and the school, please give us a call on 0207 017 3021. A tour of the school can also be arranged.

Please send your application to Ms Obirek, HR Manager, either by post or by email to obireka@cfbs.islington.sch.uk.

Deadline for sending applications: Tuesday 28th April, 12pm
Interviews date: Thursday 7th May
