Requirements
INTO University of Exeter is recruiting an Academic Director to join the Senior Management Team by September 2015. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to lead and develop a major education initiative. We are looking for an experienced leader to play an integral role in the academic management and development of teaching programmes, leading a team of academic managers and related resource within the centre. With a proven track record in delivering improvements in teaching and learning, the successful candidate will build and manage relationships with colleagues, senior managers, university stakeholders, students, sponsors and parents from a range of linguistic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Applicants will need to be thoroughly committed to the welfare and support of young people studying within an international environment. Excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach and a commitment to the development and communication of strategic plans, academic policy, priorities and objectives will be key attributes for the role.

You should be educated to postgraduate level and have a background in teaching with a record of success in the management of teaching operations with experience in academic programme design and quality assurance. Sound understanding and experience of pedagogy, staff development, curriculum design and assessment is key to this role as is the need to be commercially astute, with the ability to reconcile the twin imperatives of delivering quality programmes and working in a commercial environment.

Understanding of working in an international FE/HE context and an understanding of legal and operational matters that relate to the management of a teaching operation, its staff and students would be beneficial to applicants.
