Cadbury Sixth Form College is seeking an enthusiastic Academic Facilitator to join our StudyPlus team, providing learning and mentoring support to students.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Giving timetabled support for identified students with known difficulties in their learning and study programmes; this could involve group, one to one or drop-in sessions.
  • Offering a mentoring service for students on a self-referral basis/or ‘drop in’ and also students scheduled on a ‘Learner Improvement Programme’.
  • Tracking, monitoring and reviewing progress for a number of groups of students within StudyPlus. Students will be timetabled for two separate hours with an academic facilitator with the main aim to give guidance, time and resources to complete work being set.

Applicants should be educated to degree level (or equivalent). Experience of working with young people (such as via a youth group) is highly desirable.

Duration: This post is offered initially as a fixed term contract to 31st August 2016, working term time only (39 weeks).

Working Hours: Full time, 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time only (39 weeks). However it should be noted that the post holder may be required to work occasional evenings and/or weekends to support College activities such as parent evenings, Open Days etc, and must be willing and able to do so.

Salary: This post will be paid at SFCA Support Staff Salary Spine grade 2, point 15 (currently £15,486 pa fte) pro rata for term time only = £13,138 per annum actual.
