Arcadia Global School Al Furjan is seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Officer to start in July 2024. The ideal candidate should manage the day-to-day administrative tasks of the accounts office and contribute significantly to the achievement of the vision, mission, ethos and business objectives of the school through the development and implementation of finance strategies, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or any related field 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant role within Finance Department.
  • Able to multitask and cope with a degree of pressure at peak times
  • Knowledge in general accounts office procedures, policies and methods
  • Experience working in a similar role within a school is a plus.
  • Experienced in using MS Office with strong excel skills and Financial Software Systems.
  • Strong verbal and written command of the English language.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid communication skills and attention to detail.

Core Responsibilities

  • Administer and record all revenue invoicing according to school procedures.
  • Process invoice entries and payments in accordance with company policies and VAT guidelines.
  • Prepare accounting vouchers, review, and post GL transactions. Analyse prepayments, accruals, and other assets and liabilities accounts and record necessary adjustments if needed each month.
  • Verify totals, obtain authorizations, and handle cash reimbursements to Teachers, entering receipts in the system.
  • Handle cash reimbursements and prepare reports.
  • Process before the closing of each month.
  • Ensure expenses/incomes are charged to the correct budget head/s. Summarize and reconcile the current financial status by collecting information; prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Process bills from suppliers like DEWA, Security, Medical, Music, VAT, etc.
  • Manage, negotiate, and renew contracts with the business head’s approval.
