To meet our current and future growth plans we are seeking professionals with school leadership or school improvement expertise who are able to demonstrate a sound understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children with Early Years, Primary and Secondary settings.
The Achievement for All programme is a tailored, whole school improvement framework, delivered in partnership with leaders, teachers, parents, pupils and support professionals to improve outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged children in English, maths and reading.
The Role
Through regular coaching visits, approximately 12 per year, INSET training, and on-line and community of practice support, Achievement Coaches work in partnership with the nominated school leader to create and implement a tailored and individualised school-specific programme plan to support leadership, teaching and learning, parental engagement and to develop wider outcomes.
The Person
You will be a self-motivated and flexible team player, possess good planning and organising skills and someone who sees solutions. Achievement Coaches need to demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:
- Great coaching and interpersonal skills;
- Previous experience at a leadership level in Schools or at Local Authority Advisor level. i.e Headteacher, Deputy or Assistant Head, SENCO, Early Years leader or advisory level experience in school improvement;
- A belief that all pupils can learn and progress, whatever their backgrounds and share our values;
- Able to communicate and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders;
- A successful track-record working in maintained English schools to transform outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils;
- Up-to-date knowledge of policy and practice in SEND and school education broadly;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills ensuring that online visit reports and termly reports are completed accurately and on time.
