Job overview

Agency Provision Manager: Inclusion, SEN & Disability (ISEND) Statutory Assessment and Planning Service

East Sussex has high aspirations for our newly configured services to support children with additional and special educational needs and disabilities; we are looking for an self-motivated individual to join our management team to help us realise our vision.

Working within ISEND Statutory Education Assessment and Planning Services, you will take the lead on working with independent and non-maintained special schools to develop more effective and efficient partnerships in order to improve outcomes for children and young people in East Sussex. These schools are located within East Sussex and elsewhere in the country.

We are looking for a manager with a strong commitment to developing and evaluating existing provision across a range of agency settings in relation to specific placement decisions for children and young people with SEND 0 - 25.  This will include negotiating placements, monitoring for quality assurance purposes and contracting both for individual children and at a more strategic level in line with the SEN Commissioning Strategy.  A key priority will be ensuring that children and young people placed out of county are being appropriately safeguarded in their school or agency setting.  You will be part of an integrated management team ensuring high quality assessment planning and provision are in place for children and young people who meet statutory assessment criteria.

You will have excellent negotiating and communication skills and a background in education, alongside the ability to work with a range of professionals to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people in agency settings.

We welcome applications from those who would enjoy the challenge of developing a new role.
