Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, set in an attractive 45-acre parkland site in South Croydon.

We seek to employ an Art and Design Technician who has the ability to work under pressure and apply common sense and initiative to the demands of the post. Experience of working in a school as an Art Technician is desirable but not essential although the candidate should hold a recognised qualification in Art & Design (minimum A Level) and have practical knowledge of working with a range of art materials within the last 2 years. Knowledge of Ceramics/Kilns would also be particularly desirable. A sound knowledge of Photoshop and current ICT practice in Art & Design would be beneficial. Candidates should have good interpersonal and organisational skills as well as be physically able to fulfil heavier duties of the post.

This role may also be suited to a practising artist looking to work in a school and who is interested in using the school’s facilities and space after hours and/or an individual looking for the opportunity to obtain some experience within a school in order to progress into teaching in the future. For applicants who fall into either of these categories, additional opportunities will be considered and the salary may be reviewed accordingly.
