32.5 hours (every second week ) 16.25 weekly

You have experience of preparing and cooking meals in quantity and have an Elementary Hygiene Certificate. As well as being able to work to guidelines you have a genuine interest in food and the needs of children. A 706/1 City & Guilds, 706/2 Cooking Certificate or equivalent and knowledge of H.A.C.C.P is desirable.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.

The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.

Assists the Unit Supervisor to run a large kitchen, primarily by cooking and preparing food

The Individual

  • Assist the Unit Supervisor to operate the kitchen in an efficient manner
  • Carry out cooking and preparation tasks

Fraserburgh Academy is a six-year Comprehensive Community School situated half a mile from Fraserburgh town centre. The Academy draws most of its pupils from its associated primary schools, namely, Crimond, Fraserburgh North School, Fraserburgh South Park, St Andrews Fraserburgh, Inverallochy, Lochpots, Rathen, Rosehearty, Sandhaven, St Combs and Tyrie.

The current roll is approximately 1200 making Fraserburgh Academy one of the largest secondary schools in Aberdeenshire. This is expected to rise over the next few years if new housing developments proposed within the area go ahead.

We are at the heart of the local community, and can offer you the chance to continue be pivotal in building relationships with the business community in order to create an even tighter bond.
