Wigan Our current Assistant Director for Education is taking up a new role at Director level and so we are looking for a dynamic, energetic and engaging leader to join our senior team.

With a proven track record at leadership level in education you will join a fantastic organisation that has huge ambitions and a track record of delivery. We have an innovative new Deal with local residents that is changing the relationship between public services and our communities and building resilience at a neighbourhood level. This approach is influencing everything we do through a new operating model that is rooted in community assets. We are currently consulting on a Deal for Children and Young People that builds on this approach; the successful candidate will play a key leadership role in its implementation.

With 88% of all schools in the borough rated good or outstanding and a nationally recognised innovative system led school improvement approach, you will have the opportunity to continue to develop the role of the education service whilst joining an ambitious and successful place at a time of great opportunity given Wigan's contribution to Greater Manchester devolution and the region.
