About Queen's College Taunton

Blending a proud tradition with ambitious plans for the future, Queen’s College is a thriving co-educational independent school located in Taunton, Somerset. The College comprises four schools: a Nursery, Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior School incorporating a high-performing Sixth Form.

At every stage of our pupils’ time with us, our goal is to support them to achieve their full potential. This commitment can be found deeply rooted in our teaching team, all of whom share a joined-up approach to each child’s personal educational journey.

Our school motto ‘non scholae sed vitae discimus’ – ‘we educate not just for school but for life’ - is as relevant today as it was when the school was founded in 1843. Academic results are clearly important, but are only part of a truly all-round education. High quality learning is at the core of our academic success. Teaching is innovative, imaginative and focused on inspiring intellectual curiosity. The needs of each individual can be catered for in small classes and every pupil is made to feel special.

We aim to make Queen’s a centre of excellence for thinking and creativity which provides a bespoke, individualised education, designed to meet the needs of every member of the community, irrespective of pastoral or learning needs. Mutual respect and positive attitudes allow children to take informed risks, make mistakes and learn how to learn within an encouraging and empowering atmosphere.

As an inspirational teacher who shares our values and vision, we would invite you to consider joining our team. You can look forward to all the support you need to achieve your professional aspirations, as well as the chance to be part of a friendly, welcoming and collaborative culture within which we all work together to achieve ambitious goals.

It is also your opportunity to help us develop thoughtful, confident and resilient young people who are able to take their place as leaders of society in the future, with the spiritual and moral fibre needed to do the right thing and the flexibility of mind to meet the challenges they will face in today’s rapidly changing world.
