Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Assistant Headteacher to join our team at L’Ecole de Battersea. This is a developmental role aimed at an experienced educator who would like to progress to a management position.

The Assistant Head of School is expected to be bilingual and familiar with the French National Curriculum, especially the ‘Maternelle’ programme, as well as the English National Curriculum in particular the expectation as set out in EYFS programme. The candidate must also adhere to Teaching Standards and be able to oversee the English Phonics programme.

The successful candidate will be:


• Able to teach in a bilingual setting with a command of both English and French speaking, reading and writing.

• An outstanding practitioner able to teach across the age ranges with some experience teaching Early Years being essential.

• Competent, flexible, adaptable and reactive to any situation.

• An approachable, engaging role model who can collaborate with colleagues, families and the wider school community.

• Keen to develop leadership skills and take on more responsibility to support the Head in the overall running of the school.

• Take on the role of Pastoral Care Lead, reviewing and delivering an effective PSHE programme across the whole school.

• Responsible for overseeing and monitoring the delivery of the phonics programme.

• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

• High level of IT skills.
