Doha Academy is a QNSA (Qatar National Schools Accreditation) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) accredited school, committed to the development and well-being students and staff. We are one of the oldest and most respected schools in Qatar. Our thriving 2000+ student population is aged between 3 and 18 years old and is made up of over 40 different nationalities. 

We are looking for an exceptional Assistant Head of School with responsibility for inclusion, to join our EYFS school, Doha International Kindergarten. This is a newly created post due to the growth of the school. Successful candidates will have a strong background in inclusion, preferably having held a SENCo role or similar.

Doha Academy’s vision and mission is to provide an outstanding, accessible and all-inclusive education. The majority of our students have English as a second language, and the ability to support students with language acquisition would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities for the successful candidate include:

·        Promote the School vision and mission within the School community.

·        Collaborate with the Head of School to lead and manage the EYFS team effectively.

·        To assist with day-to-day running of the School, inclusive of covering classes and specific adminstrative roles.

·        Provide guidance and support to EYFS staff in implementing inclusive practices.

·        Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to inclusion within the EYFS setting.

·        Support the continuous professional development of EYFS staff in the areas of inclusion and diversity.

·        Monitor the progress of all children within the EYFS setting, including those with additional needs.

·        Use assessment data to identify any gaps or areas for improvement in provision and practice.

·        Work collaboratively with staff to implement targeted interventions and support strategies where necessary.

·        Build positive relationships with all stakeholders and outside agencies.

Preferable:

·        Strong understanding of inclusion principles and best practices in early years education.

·        Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

·        Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.

·        A commitment to ongoing professional development and a reflective approach to practice.

·        An enthusiastic, passionate and inspirational teacher, with experience of teaching EYFS British curriculum.
