The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Secondary to:

  • Support the implementation of the academic vision and strategy for the school.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to teaching staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Foster a positive and collegiate academic environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning.
  • Oversee the development, review, and implementation of the school’s curriculum, ensuring alignment with international standards, compliance with UAE guidelines, and best educational practices.
  • Ensure that the curriculum is planned and delivered in line with the Massachusetts standards across all grades.
  • Work with the Digital Innovation Team to promote the use of technologies in enhancing and deepening students’ learning experiences.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Secondary Team to help drive school improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies, making data-driven decisions to enhance student outcomes including implementing strategies informed by metacognition and self-regulation.
  • Conduct data analysis to assess the impact of teaching strategies and assessment on student outcomes and report these to the Head of Secondary.
  • Stay abreast of educational trends, innovations, and research to inform curriculum development and assessment.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
  • Support the professional growth of teaching staff, identifying training needs and addressing these through mentorship, coaching, and training programmes.
  • Contribute to Inspection processes and to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare for and participate in ADEK inspections.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure teaching staff meets and exceeds educational standards.
  • Collaborate with members of the secondary and the pastoral team to promote the holistic development and wellbeing of students.
  • Implement initiatives that create a positive and inclusive school culture, fostering a sense of belonging and respect.
  • Foster strong partnerships with parents to support their involvement in their child's education.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject      
  • PGCE or equivalent qualification in Education      
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience 
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check
