An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Head - (Primary) with Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities to work at our SEMH School on a permanent basis, starting September 2024 ( an earlier start also considered)

The Harbour School is a committed team striving to provide the very best education for the children in their care. We are looking to appoint a dedicated new member of the Senior Leadership Team to continue to develop the school's provision. This opportunity could also be suitable for a primary trained teacher- looking for their next step.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed Assistant Head who has a range of skills and experience to call upon.

The successful candidate will be a talented, enthusiastic and dedicated individual with high expectations to teach in our multi key stage setting.          

The successful candidate will play a significant role in improving the quality of teaching and pupils’ learning, together with promoting the vision, values and aspirations of the school and its wider community.

The successful candidate will support the Principal with the leadership of the school and day running of roles and responsibilities within the Senior Leadership Team. To contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school and be active in promoting its aims, supporting its ethos that promotes achievement and high standards.

Our learners have complex needs, and so the successful candidate will be able to ensure that the curriculum fully engages their learning and delivers a high quality curriculum which enables them to facilitate their individual needs and facilitates sustained progress.

The Harbour School currently caters for boys from 5-16 years who have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) for social, emotional and mental health needs. We currently have 100 pupils on roll who attend from all over the Cambridgeshire area and sometimes from outside the county. Our school is situated in rural Cambridgeshire. The generous grounds, including the wooded area and pond, are fully utilised through enrichment activities throughout the school day.

This is an exciting time for us all as at The Harbour having joined Meridian Trust (formerly CMAT) .
