Job overview

Harrow Appi is seeking to appoint an outstanding leader to the role of Assistant Head: Data and Assessment Head from August 2024 or January 2025. This exciting opportunity to lead and serve a thriving and unique British international boarding school would suit an individual with diverse leadership attributes, a genuine affinity for the distinctive ethos and values of Harrow Appi and aspirations for further advancement within school leadership in future.

Harrow Appi offers an exceptional educational experience in a stunning natural setting. Located in the breathtaking Appi Kogen mountain resort, the impressive campus is surrounded by pristine forests, sparkling lakes and majestic mountains. Students have the unique opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that fosters creativity, exploration and connection with the natural world. From outdoor and adventurous activities including skiing and mountain biking, to experiential learning opportunities that promote environmental stewardship, students gain a deep appreciation for the beauty and diversity of the natural world. By being immersed in nature, they develop a greater sense of mindfulness, resilience and well-being, which translates to academic and personal success and the development of Harrovian values.

Having opened in August 2022, Harrow Appi is the newest in Harrow’s family of international schools, catering for students between the ages of 11 and 16 (years 7 to 11) currently and expanding into sixth form in the summer of 2024. Whilst the curriculum is delivered in English, all students have the opportunity to master two additional languages, Japanese and Chinese. Students enjoy two distinct co-curricular seasons with an exciting array of extracurricular activities for the “white” and “golden and green” seasons. The white season focuses on snow sports while the golden and green seasons give extended access to the great outdoors, focused on sports academies for golf, tennis and cycling.

Reporting to the Deputy Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for tracking all forms of student data at Harrow Appi with vision, energy and positivity. The successful candidate will be passionate about combining discipline and accuracy with the freedom to think, innovate and explore, both within and outside the classroom. This is an exciting time to join the school, through a period of significant growth and consolidation. s.
