GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS) opened in 2014 and is positioned in the heart of The Villa community in Dubai. It is a Premium British Curriculum School, providing an excellent standard of education to around 2000 students from Nursery (aged 2) to Year 13, with exciting plans to expand facilities further in the coming years. The school has grown rapidly and continues to be popular with families from across Dubai with over 90 nationalities represented. FPS is housed in state-of-the-art buildings with a separate sport and performing arts centre, swimming pools, theatre, sports hall, dance, drama and music rooms. Our main building contains specialist facilities such as a range of computer labs, food technology kitchen, textiles and design suite, fully equipped Design Technology workshops, science labs and much more. The school prides itself on being inclusive and values-driven, creating a learning environment that promotes innovation and a love of learning. We are looking to appoint outstanding Assistant Headteacher (Secondary) for a September 2024 start.

• Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
• Work closely with the Executive leadership team to establish effective and globally relevant practices of learning & teaching. Implement the schools vision for quality in the school linked with the GEMS expectation of excellent education. 
• Integrate GEMS core values into the planning and delivery of all curricular and co-curricular lessons and activities. 
• Develop minimum learning outcomes for all subjects and set benchmarks to raise standards. 
• Help staff develop professionally and meet time-based school improvement targets. 
• Conduct needs-based lesson observations / lesson appraisal and provide focused effective feedback in order to meet school targets.
• Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
• Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday, where the tasks require additional commitment.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required. 
• Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.

Bachelor qualification or equivalent with a Teacher Training Qualification
