Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic SENDCo to our school, in the role of Assistant Head inclusion.

We are the behaviour pupil referral unit for the West Kent area and currently have a role of 45 students in Years 10 and 11. The SENDCo will be a key member of the senior leadership team as we look to embed responsive teaching into our teaching and learning strategy, but also ensure that our students have the appropriate support from the time that they join us. The SENDCo would also oversee the access arrangements procedure and whilst they need not be qualified to perform this task, it would be an advantage.

This post could be offered on a part-time non-teaching basis or a full-time teaching basis, depending upon the needs of the most suitable candidate. We welcome applications from teachers of all subjects, but would be particularly interested in those who could offer a subject compatible with the needs of our students.

We currently have a team of 5 teaching assistants who support our students.

Further details about the school can be found at twobridgesschool.com if you require any further information about the vacancy please telephone Kate Middleton on 01892519841.

Applications must be made directly through the TES website. Please ensure you complete full employment and education history, including grades achieved at all levels.

The school reserves the right to interview candidates before the closing date. Therefore, if you are interested in applying for the role, we recommend you do not delay in submitting your application as we would ideally like to appoint prior to half term.

Two Bridges School is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Our commitment is underpinned by robust processes and procedures that seek to minimise risk and continuously promote a culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce.

All posts within the school are subject to an enhanced DBS check. We welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or age.
