This is an exciting opportunity, aimed at outstanding, well qualified and inspirational Mathematics teachers. Applications therefore would be welcomed from leading practitioners with experience of, or who aspire to, Senior Leadership.

Do you believe that learning Mathematics is vitally important for our young people? Would you like to shape the learning of Mathematics in a school that aims to become outstanding in the very near future? We are looking for a Mathematics specialist with ideas, initiative and ambition to inspire our students. You will lead a forward thinking and supportive Mathematics team. You will be responsible for raising standards and aspirations whilst playing a pivotal role in the development of the Mathematics curriculum at one of the most exciting times in the school’s history.

You will be expected to lead the Mathematics team to further improve the quality of provision here at Cavendish School. You will also be expected to be involved in exploring the development of the Mathematics curriculum for an all through school as we seek to become the first such establishment in East Sussex.

Our results in Mathematics are consistently good and we are confident that we can improve our results to become outstanding.

As a member of our core SLT team there will be an opportunity for whole school responsibilities dependent on the skills and interests of the successful candidate. Exact details of what this will look like will be negotiated on appointment.

Cavendish is a popular and successful school. Our drive on school improvement in the last few years has been stunning. Our headline figure for 5 A* to C grades in English and Mathematics has increased from 45% to 60% in 2014. Our most recent Ofsted Report in 2011 stated “ Improving attainment and progress and the support and respect given to students underpin the good quality of education provided here.”

Our School is located in a pleasant residential area and enjoys views of the South Downs. Interested applicants are welcome to visit the school by appointment.

Please download the application form and further details from our website and send in your application as soon as possible. http://www.cavendishschool.net/contact/vacancies.

We look forward to receiving your application by e-mail addressed for the attention of Mr Ian Swingler, Head of School.
