Assistant Headteacher

St Peter’s Church of England Primary School is a larger than average primary school serving the local community. Our pupils are well behaved, motivated and eager to learn and our dedicated staff team is committed to giving them an excellent start in education.

This is an exciting time in the improvement of our school and the Governors are now looking to recruit two Assistant Headteachers to enhance our SLT and support our recently appointed Headteacher and Deputy.  As teaching and learning is our main area for improvement the successful candidates will hold an important strategic role in the leadership team of the school. They will be outstanding practitioners who will be able to lead by example in their own classroom practice, and be able to support, develop and train others. These new roles have been created to ensure that the learning needs of all pupils are addressed in the most effective way and that they are able to make rapid progress in line with the schools' expectations. We are seeking to appoint one Assistant Head to oversee the Early Years and Key Stage 1 and a further Assistant Head to oversee Key Stage 2.

• be skilled and experienced teachers with exemplary classroom practice, and the skills to be able to coach and develop this within others
• have a strong track record in making an impact on pupils’ progress
• have excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• be able to lead, motivate and inspire others to achieve excellence
