Job overview

Standards in English / Whole School Teaching & Learning

In our quest for excellence we are looking to appoint a first class leader to take the English Faculty to the next level. We want to appoint someone who can lead and develop the curriculum area but with the capacity to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning across the school. This would be the ideal opportunity for someone who has the subject expertise in English and wants to take the next step into the Leadership Team whilst maintaining a base in their subject area and modelling and developing classroom practice across the whole school.

The appointed person would be expected to become lead practitioner with responsibility for the development of specific areas of classroom delivery across the school. You should be an outstanding classroom practitioner with experience of leading and raising standards in a team and be able to demonstrate outstanding results in your own subject.

This is a key appointment and will be vital to the continuation of our improvement journey. If you are successful you will be well supported and gain experience from, whilst contributing to, an experienced and progressive Leadership Team.

An application form and further details of the post are available from the school website www.golbornehigh.wigan.sch.uk

Closing date: Thursday 4th December 2014 at Noon
Interviews: Friday 12th December 2014

The post is covered by the Protection of Children Act and is therefore subject to enhanced DBS clearance. The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
