In 2014 64% of students achieved a grade C or above at GCSE and 67% made 3 or more levels of progress. This is significantly above national averages. In English Literature GCSE 88% of students achieved a grade C or above with 25% achieving A*/A.

The Morley Academy is at an exciting stage of its development. Examination results in 2013 and 2014 place it within the top 20% of schools nationally for KS3 and KS4. At 300 students, Post-16 numbers are the highest in the academy’s history and in September 2015 a new Post-16 College, the Elliott Hudson College will open. We are also in partnership with The Farnley Academy, Hillcrest Academy, Ryecroft Academy and Morley Newlands Academy in a sponsorship role and in September 2014 we opened an 11-16 free school, The Ruth Gorse Academy. In March 2012 we became a National Teaching School and we retained our status of an Outstanding academy in May 2013 when we were re-inspected and were judged Outstanding in every category.

Recently accredited as a World Class School The Morley Academy is one of only 48 schools in the country to have the outcomes, attitudes and skills-sets of the student body recognised in this way.  We are extremely proud of this award and feel it captures our vision and ethos in a poignant manner.

We are a humble organisation that does not rest on its laurels.  We are always keen to listen and learn and we are eager to work in partnership with students and parents, carers and governors to continue to ensure our provision is the best it can possibly be.  As the founding member of the nationally renowned GORSE Academies Trust we benefit from expert partnership networks which provide a rich climate for discussion, debate, moderation and the sharing of resources.  Furthermore through the academy’s SCITT we benefit from working alongside and supporting the development of professionals new to teaching; we recognise the advantages that this offers and relish the opportunity to work collaboratively.

We are thrilled you are considering applying for a role with us; we can assure you if you do you will not be disappointed!
