We are looking to appoint from 1st July 2015, a highly motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable Business Manager with experience of strategic financial planning within a school or other organisation. The successful candidate will oversee the direction and management of all matters relating to the finance and personnel management of all schools within the multi-academy trust and the teaching school alliance. With the ability to be hands–on and controls focused they will have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and be able to inspire and challenge colleagues and teams.

Whitehill Community Academy is a popular primary school for pupils aged 3 to 11 with 522 pupils on role and is expanding in September 2015 to admit a further 178 children which will be phased in over the next 2 or 3 years. Whitehill is a National Support School and a National Teaching School, jointly leading the local teaching school alliance “Teamworks”. Wainstalls School is a member of the multi academy trust and has 146 pupils but is looking to expand in the future.

Reporting directly to the Executive Principal, MAT Board and local governing bodies, the successful candidate will be a key member of the senior leadership team, able to lead on the financial and administrative management of the schools and teaching school alliance.

Candidates are expected to have the relevant experience and qualifications and should be able to demonstrate outstanding financial, project and administrative management skills and an ability to work effectively with all members of the school community. Excellent communication skills, advanced knowledge of excel and a willingness to respond to and be involved in the daily life of the school are essential. The school uses the SIMS FMS software, so a working knowledge of this would also be an advantage.

In January 2024, Whitehill Community Academy joined Trinity Multi Academy Trust, becoming the eleventh school in the Trust and the third primary school. This offers our team at Whitehill Community Academy the opportunity to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals from across the Trust, including Trinity Institute of Education and West Yorkshire Maths Hub.
