Job overview

Business Manager

Salary: £47,000 - £57,000

Thank you for your interest in the role of Business Manager at Hampton High, part of Bourne Education Trust. We're excited to learn more about you and introduce you to our exceptional school, its ambitious mission, and our extraordinary staff and students.

About Hampton High:

Located within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, our school is a successful and popular six-form entry secondary school, providing education to children within our local area.

At Hampton High we recognise the importance of academic success whilst embracing our wider role in preparing students for their adult life beyond the formal examined curriculum. We strongly believe in high aspirations, reflecting our core values of Aspiration, Resilience, Collaboration and Respect.

We pride ourselves on being at the heart of our local community, providing an inspiring and caring environment where all children feel secure, valued and happy.

In 2019, Hampton High was judged to be ‘good’ across all areas by Ofsted.

Being part of Bourne Education Trust:

As part of Bourne Education Trust, we believe in shared values and culture, while celebrating the unique identity of our school, expressed through our curriculum and teaching styles. We firmly reject the 'one size fits all' approach, fostering a culture of sharing best practices and innovative ideas. This year, our Trust-wide priorities revolve around sustainability and social justice, providing numerous opportunities for staff to engage with these essential themes.

As a BET school we promote academic excellence and the holistic development of our students, and are supported by a central team (and fellow school leaders) who offer a wealth of experience in education, recruitment, marketing, HR, finance, capital projects, and IT.

Your role as Business Manager:

The Business Manager plays a key role in the strategic development of a Bourne Education Trust school and therefore we are looking for a highly experienced, strategic and customer-focused individual who will be able to lead the business function at Hampton High.

You will lead a number of business services across the school as well as working closely with the Trust’s central team to ensure that these functions provide value added support in a timely and professional way. This is a challenging and diverse role offering the opportunity to lead and develop teams and make a tangible impact on the lives of young people supported by finance, HR and business colleagues.

You will have experience in leading and coordinating the delivery of finance and business support in one or more schools, or a similarly complex environment. In addition, you will be familiar with strategic planning and decision-making, professional relationship management, negotiating and influencing at senior leadership, governing body and board level, and the effective and efficient management of resources.

This is an ideal post for a candidate who is ambitious and looking for a role that could act as a springboard to more senior opportunities in a growing multi-academy trust.
