Job overview

We are looking for someone to come and join us at an exciting time in our development.

Frewen College is a small rural independent school, one of the leading dyslexia specialist schools in the country, and the longest established, dating back to 1910. Located on the village fringe, it centres on a Grade 1 listed Jacobean mansion and has extensive listed gardens and grounds.

Following the forthcoming retirement of the incumbent, the Principal and Governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified Business Manager to help play a leading part in the continuing development of the school. You will need to be able to think strategically, and have proven expertise in finance and leading a multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for all support functions so must be able to prioritise and be flexible. Full details can be found in the accompanying documents.

Take-up of the role will be 1st September with the job hand-over taking place on a flexible basis during August. Please submit a handwritten covering letter with your application. If you wish to visit the school or discuss the role before applying please telephone the Principal Mr Nick Goodman or the outgoing Business Manager Mr Jeremy Field.

Our Aims at Frewen College

The central aim of our team is to enable each pupil within the school to fulfil his or her potential.

All pupils who enter the school are diagnosed as having specific learning difficulties and/ or associated educational needs. Most of them have encountered difficulties during their previous school experiences. Our objective is that pupils should be helped to overcome their problems in the way that best suits each of them. Every pupil is seen as equal and individual with unique talents and abilities. Developing these talents is central to the education we provide.

We are a community, in which respect for the individual is at the core of our philosophy. Each member of the community, whether pupil or adult, has an important role to play within the school family. It is an understanding of these responsibilities and privileges which allows each of us to contribute fully to the community of the school.

By providing a unique combination of curricular and pastoral strategies, Frewen College strives to provide the best possible education for every pupil. The education we provide allows each pupil to believe in themselves, and to move on to become an included and contributory member of society.
