Job overview

Frontier Learning Trust is a small Academy Trust comprising Woodhouse College and Imperial College London Maths School (ICLMS). Woodhouse College is a popular and oversubscribed 16–19 academy of around 1,500 full-time students, all on A level courses, on a vibrant campus in North London. The College is proud of its strong community spirit and friendly, supportive atmosphere. Our success rates and A*–B pass rates at A level regularly put us in the top five colleges in England. We have maintained our ‘outstanding’ status in a recent inspection by Ofsted in May 2022. Our students are ambitious, lively and committed to doing well. Staff work hard and morale is high; this is a great place to work. ICLMS opened in September 2023. This school is a specialist sixth form based on the Woodhouse College site. ICLMS currently has 40 students and is based in temporary classrooms. In time, the school will have a new building and 200 students.

We are seeking to appoint a flexible and committed individual to join our caretaking team. Duties will involve taking responsibility for site security, health and safety, general porter duties, and the preparation of classrooms and other areas of the Trust’s campus for lessons and meetings. You will be working alongside two other caretakers and reporting to the Head Caretaker.

We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills and enthusiasm who can relate well with staff, students and contractors. A flexible and approachable manner is essential. The core working hours (7.2 per day) will be between 6.00 am and 8.00 pm Mon–Fri plus one hour for lunch. Working weeks will be organised via a rota system.

The Trust offers a generous annual leave package plus bank holidays, plus 5 days during the Christmas holiday period and membership of the local government pension scheme.

The annual salary will be Point 7 to Point 9 on the sixth form college support staff salary scale, depending on experience, currently £23,585 to £24,442 plus £3,082 London Weighting.

Closing date: Noon on Tuesday, 23 April 2024.

The Trust is committed to equality and diversity and encourages applications from black and minority ethnic groups which are currently underrepresented. The Trust is also committed to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
