15 hours per week – School term time only + 4 Cleaning Days

We are seeking a catering assistant to work in our school kitchen, 15 hours per week, term time plus four cleaning days. You will assist with basic food preparation, food service during school lunch time and cleaning and washing up after lunch time.

Experience is desirable.

The ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to relate to children, whilst being a team player and be flexible with approach to the work.

We are looking for someone to join our happy team at Richard Coates committed to making lunchtimes a valuable and enjoyable experience for our pupils.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post as well as undertaking any training that is required for the role.

Richard Coates Church of England Middle School is a mixed, mainstream, secondary school in Newcastle, Northumberland. It caters to students aged 9 to 13 and has approximately 446 pupils enrolled.

This is to be done in a happy, caring Christian community which celebrates every achievement. The school uses the national curriculum, which is broad and balanced and easily applies to all students, of different learning abilities. The curriculum focuses on the core subjects but also offers art, computing, geography, history, languages, music, P.E., R.E. and technology. They also have a wide array of extra-curricular activities and field trips which cater to a variety of subjects, talents and hobbies.
