We work hard to meet the varying needs of all our learners. Fife Education and Learning Directorate is the second largest in Scotland providing for over 55,500 children and young people.

Fife Childcare and Early Years Services provides a range of childcare services throughout Fife, including around 50 Out of School Clubs for children aged 4 - 14 years old and local Creches for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old.

The Council applies the Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £7.85 per hour to this post from April 2015.

Requirements:

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups  (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

Responsibilities:

You will normally be based in a single location but may be required to cover at other clubs in the area or to relocate to meet the needs of the Service. You will be responsible for planning, organising and taking part in play and leisure activities, such as art, craft or drama, to taking children on outings, and from cookery to outdoor games or active sports.

The Individual:

You will have experience of working with children aged 4 to 14 years in a childcare setting and you must be eligible to register with SSSC as a Practitioner and either hold an SVQ Level 3 in Play Work (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards qualifications that will help you maintain your registration.
