We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Class Teacher to join our team at Kensington Avenue Primary School. As a Class Teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to work with a class of pupils with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ensuring that their individual planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting needs are met. It is essential that you maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school both inside and outside the classroom.

As the Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) Phase Leader, you will have Teaching and Learning Responsibility for leading all aspects of the curriculum within the ELP, ensuring the highest standards of children's achievement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day timetabling for the pupils and staff within the ELP, as well as for inclusion across the school.
  • Being involved in placement planning for the Reception cohort annually by undertaking a review of applications and evidence gathering.
  • Providing support on ELP consultations.
  • Ensuring learning plans are well matched to the pupils' needs and effectively implemented.
  • Leading on risk assessments and the approach to behaviour management.
  • Ensuring effective communication with parents.
  • Ensuring engagement of the ELP in whole school events and routines.
  • Leading on EHCP reviews.
  • Supporting the induction of pupils into the ELP and their transition to the next stage of learning
