After the school was placed into special measures in February 2014, the Interim Executive Board (IEB) and Leadership Team have worked hard to ensure that Elsecar is a school with a fresh and exciting identity, where all pupils are valued and achieve their full potential. This work has already started and progress has been made in all areas. We now need someone to work with us in continuing to make this vision a reality. We are very clear in our desire to move to become a good school in the first instance then onto an outstanding school.

Elsecar Holy Trinity has been working with Dodworth St Johns Primary Academy since September 2014 and it is planned that from September 2015 the school will join the St Johns Academy Trust as a sponsored Academy.

Our pupils are extremely well behaved, our staff team motivated and hardworking and our parents supportive in the journey the school has embarked on.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Work with and develop a team within a school with a Christian ethos and identity
• Demonstrate a commitment to outstanding classroom practice and how to support others in achieving this
• Know the importance of both encouragement and constructive criticism to inspire and facilitate success for both pupil achievement and staff development
• Lead and manage a core subject
• Analyse current data and its usage in informing potential changes required within the curriculum
• Show high standards of both discipline and behaviour that assist in creating a productive learning environment
• Use outstanding communication skills
• Be approachable for all pupils, staff, parents, governors, as well as members of the local community and beyond
