World's End Infant & Nursery School
Quinton, Birmingham
- Expired
- Job type:
- Full Time, Permanent
- Apply by:
- 8 May 2015
Job overview
The Resource Base for Visually Impaired is shared between World’s End Infant and World’s End Junior Schools, and currently supports the full integration of 6 children, from Nursery to KS2, with a staff of 6 fte. The schools are happy, welcoming and supportive environments, very well-regarded in the local area, and consistently oversubscribed; WEIS has had three successive outstanding Ofsted reports. We are expanding schools and will be fully 3 form entry by September 2016.
This key role has arisen due to the impending retirement of the current co-ordinator. We are looking for a creative and innovative teacher with a passion for teaching and learning and a commitment to inclusion, strong leadership and management skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and support others. Substantial knowledge of, and experience in teaching children with visual impairment is essential (QTVI necessary), as is a working knowledge of Braille.
The post starts from September 2015 (but could start sooner for those who are available).
Prospective candidates are encouraged to visit, and will be warmly welcomed; please contact Jan Yeomans on 0121 422 0453, or email appointments@worldsendinfant.bham.sch.uk to arrange a suitable day/time and to request further details and an application form.
Closing Date: Friday 8 May 2015.
Interview date: Tuesday 19 May 2015.
This School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
