Long Road is a popular and successful Sixth Form College with over 2,600 16–19-year-old full time students. Conveniently located close to the M11 and A14, the college is set in the thriving and expanding city of Cambridge, next to the Biomedical Campus within its own attractive grounds. Long Road was judged by OFSTED to be ‘Good’ in all five categories in 2019, and we are now taking the next steps to become an Outstanding College.

We are looking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic, and qualified Course Team Leader in Economics to join and lead our dedicated team of specialist teachers. Economics is a popular choice, we currently have a total of 190 students studying the subject in Years 12 & 13, over 10 groups.

You will be an enthusiastic and dedicated Economics specialist, with experience of teaching Y12 & Y13 A Level Economics as well as an ability to teach A Level Business Studies. We are looking for someone who can consistently deliver high quality, interesting lessons that engage students. In addition, we would like someone who is positive and able to develop strong working relationships with team members and students. The role would be suited to a candidate who is currently in a similar role or a teacher who is looking to take the next steps in their career.

We actively promote the use of evidence- based pedagogy in the classroom, within the department, and offer support to teachers through individual or group research projects.

Salary ranges from £30,500 to £47,133, plus annual CTL Allowance Band 3 (£4,054).

Up to £5,000 relocation package is offered, with submission of receipts, (valid for 6 months). To include removal costs, home sale/rental costs, new location searches and home appliances (if required).

Up to £5,000 incentive, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate outstanding outcomes, with positive value added over the past 3 years.
