Salary: MPS/UPS plus TLR1b (£11,410)

Closing date: 9am Thursday 9 May 2024

Start Date: September 2024

North Huddersfield Trust School is recognised by Ofsted as a 'Good' school and has been described in the most recent inspection as having “a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.” We pride ourselves on the fact that the “diversity of the school and community is celebrated.” Our ambition for our students and our caring and nurturing approach to education within and beyond the classroom contributes to what makes our school an extremely special, welcoming place for staff and students and the wider, vibrant community that we serve.

We place great value on the fulfilment and well-being of our colleagues; our successes to date are in no small part down to their exceptional work, commitment and determination. Our growing student roll enables us to provide opportunities for both personal and career development for all our colleagues.

We are seeking to appoint a talented individual with a flair for leadership, innovation and a commitment to inclusion. As Curriculum Area Leader for English, we would like you to have a clear vision for driving progress, raising attainment and fostering a love for English in all our students. The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary subject knowledge and curriculum awareness, a robust understanding of data and its application to bridge gaps in performance as well as a passion for English and a desire to make it accessible to all students. It is essential that you are an outstanding classroom practitioner and an enthusiastic educationalist capable of providing aspirational leadership to give all our students the very best educational experience that they deserve.

We welcome interest from potential applicants who represent the diversity of our school and local community.

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion of the role, or arrange a visit to the school please contact Nora Brown at nbrown@nhtschool.co.uk.

The closing date is 9am on Thursday 9 May 2024.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

In line with KCSIE 2023 and guidance from The Safer Recruitment Consortium, shortlisted applicants will be subject to an online search.
