We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague, who would contribute to the high standards of the Key Stage 3 Service. He/she will need to be hard working and committed to supporting schools, children & families.

The Lead Teacher of English and Literacy will be a member of the Middle Leadership Curriculum Team.  We are looking to appoint a forward-thinking Teacher who will lead on the planning, delivery and assessing of English and who will oversee the development of literacy across the school.  The successful applicant will also have a responsibility for support and advice regarding pupils with SEBD, SEN and Additional Needs, in mainstream High Schools. Experience teaching in a PRU or LSU would be an advantage.  The successful applicant must be flexible in all aspects of their work as they may be required to teach some sessions outside their areas of specialism.

The successful applicant will share leadership of the curriculum and the monitoring of standards of teaching and learning throughout the school as a member of the Curriculum Team.

Applicants must have experience in teaching students who exhibit emotional and behavioural difficulties. Additionally he/she must also provide evidence of motivating disaffected students in mainstream education.

  • A commitment to working alongside parents, mainstream Teachers and outside agencies.
