Tes is supporting the appointment of a Curriculum Leader Computer Science to join a Community School based in Hounslow.

The School is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Curriculum Leader of Computer Science with the highest order leadership skills, to help ensure that this is a truly outstanding school with outstanding provision in this area. They are looking for an exceptional Computer Science specialist, with the ability to teach up to A Level and the capacity to contribute more widely to teaching across the Team and the School.

The successful candidate will lead an established team, contributing fully to maintaining excellence by inspiring and motivating both staff and students.

In particular, candidates should have:

  • The capacity to contribute to the development of the School’s ethos
  • The ability to inspire and motivate others and to manage change effectively
  • High expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
  • Enthusiasm for developing innovative approaches to learning, teaching and student participation
  • An excitement about the potential of new technologies to transform students’ learning experiences
  • An excellent track record of teaching and developing GCSE and A Level Computer Science and BTEC L3 in Information Technology demonstrated through exemplary examination results
  • A clear understanding of the current curriculum, assessment and pedagogical developments in Computer Science at all Key Stages

The Community School is a successful, vibrant, happy and oversubscribed school where ‘pupils have high aspirations and want to succeed in education. Pupils achieve very well in a wide range of subjects in the main school and sixth form’. They are now seeking to appoint an individual who shares their passion for learning and their determination to change lives through the education they provide.
