For September 2015 we are seeking to appoint a well qualified, inspiring and energetic Geography or History teacher to lead our Humanities Department. A person with energetic passion and commitment for the subject who can instill a love of learning by delivering inspirational and fun lessons. As Curriculum Leader you will lead on all aspects of Humanities teaching, promoting interest in the subject across the age and ability range up to GCSE. The successful postholder may be required to teach across the Trust at our partner school (Coombe Girls’ School) and the ability to teach a 2nd subject would be an advantage.

Coombe Boys’ is a popular and highly successful non-selective 11 – 18 school that is federated with its partner girls’ school to comprise the Coombe Secondary Schools Academy Trust, based in New Malden, Surrey. Coombe Boys’ has approximately 800 students on roll, including a mixed sixth form.

Results at GCSE and in the Sixth Form are significantly above national averages and the School was graded Good with Outstanding Leadership & Management in its most recent Ofsted inspection (December 2013).

The school is proud to be innovative and forward-thinking and as part of the Trust has been awarded Teaching School status as well as being an active member of the Independent State School Partnership with King’s College School, Wimbledon.

Coombe Boys’ School is a comprehensive secondary school offering a broad and balanced curriculum to local boys aged 11-16. We also have a mixed sixth form run in close collaboration with Coombe Girls’ School.  There are currently 973 students on the school roll, of which 103 are in the sixth form.  The school has held academy status since 2012, as part of the Coombe Academy Trust (CAT) which also incorporates Coombe Girls’ School, Knollmead Primary School, Green Lane Primary & Nursery School, and Robin Hood Primary & Nursery School.  The school is based in New Malden close to the A3 and with Motspur Park station within 8 minutes walking distance.
