The Academy
Tamworth Sixth Form Academy opened on 1st September 2011 and is a dynamic institution, with new facilities, striving to be outstanding in everything it does. The Academy provides Level 3 courses, both AS/A2 and BTEC, for the whole of Tamworth. In addition to providing a broad academic curriculum for Post 16 students we also provide opportunities to develop confidence and skills through our varied enrichment programme and the quality of our pastoral care. We are committed to the professional development of all of our staff as well as encouraging innovative strategies to develop our young people.

Physics A-level is delivered as part of the Science, Technology and Engineering Faculty which includes the traditional science A-levels in addition to Health and Social Care, Applied Science, Psychology and Product Design, and BTEC Engineering. This ambitious department has been going from strength to strength and has been key to the success of students progressing to a wide range of university destinations including Oxbridge as well as engineering apprenticeships.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant qualifications (both formal and through appropriate experience) including a proven track record in raising standards at Post 16. Newly Qualified Teachers will be considered depending on teaching and leadership potential. Support for fast-track to subject leadership will be available.

About Landau Forte Academy Tamworth Sixth Form

Landau Forte Academy Tamworth Sixth Form is a coeducational academy which opened in 2011 and was converted to academy status in August 2013. It is a part of the Landau Forte Charitable Trust. It is a secondary school with a sixth form, situated in Tamworth, Staffordshire, for children aged between 16 and 18. The school is funded by the state.

The school follows British values. This includes individual liberty and respect for others. Students should be tolerant of people with different religions. Democracy, the rule of law and mutual respect is also valued. Business and engineering are two of the main subjects being taught at the school. Landau Forte Academy Tamworth Sixth Form works in partnership with local businesses to help students learn about life in the workplace. The main company students work with is the Staffordshire’s Local Enterprise Partnership.
