Job overview

Ark is in international organisation whose purpose is to transform children’s lives. We do this by establishing and running programmes and ventures designed to have a significant impact on children’s life chances. Successful programmes within the Ark family include:

  • Ark Schools – a network of 31 high performing, non-selective schools and one of England’s top performing academy operators.
  • Frontline – an innovative social work leadership development programme providing training to over 100 graduates and career-changers every year.
  • Maths Mastery – a maths teaching programme used by over 100 schools in England.
  • Teaching Leaders & Future Leaders – high-impact leadership development programmes which together have worked with over 1,000 middle and senior leaders.

We pride ourselves on having a sector-leading approach to information systems and data analysis. For Ark Schools, this involves a combination of in-house system development and high performing external analysis tools like Tableau. Given the considerable demand for similar services nationally, we have also recently established an education data venture to offer similarly high quality data analysis to schools and education organisations across the country.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and capable database professional to join our talented and growing team and lead our data warehouse work. The successful candidate will continue to develop Ark Schools’ PostgreSQL data warehouse, including designing and implementing improvements, integration of new systems and liaison with diverse stakeholders and third party contractors. They will also oversee the standardisation of this solution for use by schools and networks outside of Ark.

The ideal candidate will also possess some database administration knowledge, and will be proactive and solution-oriented, possess a high level of attention to detail and be able to work flexibly and collaboratively.

Please upload your CV and Covering Letter no later than 11am on Monday 29th June. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interviews are scheduled to take place during the week commencing 6th July.
