Plumstead Manor is a thriving and popular secondary school located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. There has been a school on our site since 1913, with the first 105 years as a girls’ school. In response to local demand we admitted our first mixed cohort in 2018 and are now fully co-educational.

The role

We are seeking a DCL Head of History and Politics who will be responsible for leading excellence in History and Politics. This will include developing and maintaining a curriculum that enables young people to develop their knowledge understanding and skills in History and Politics and ensuring that suitable schemes of work are in place. You will need to be able to track, monitor and analyse assessment data and oversee the quality of teaching and outcomes.  

You should share our vision and our commitment both to high aspirations for academic scholarship alongside high expectations for behaviour and personal development.

The History and Politics department has an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum planned, this is audited by The Black Curriculum which is representative of the community and promotes harmony and inclusivity.  As Lead you would have the autonomy to build the wider curriculum so that students experience physical history.
