We are looking for an experienced and highly committed Deputy Curriculum Leader to assist in the coordination and management of the English Department at Holly Lodge School.

This position is available to more experienced colleagues and Holly Lodge offers excellent CPD opportunities. It would be ideal as a stepping stone for those who wish to progress to departmental leadership or lead practitioner status in the future.

Holly Lodge School is a mixed 11-19 Specialist Science College. Currently it has 1300 students on roll, but this is increasing steadily due to the rapid improvement that the school has successfully made. The school is part of the ‘building schools for the future’ programme with a new £23.5 million school that completed in September 2011 offering state of the art teaching and learning facilities.

Holly Lodge School is a thriving and exciting school, which has made significant progress in recent years. Bench mark data shows, in general, an upward trend with a record 50% 5 A*-C including English and Mathematics passes in 2013. The number of 5 A*-C passes reached 81%. Whilst we incurred a dip in results last year, 40% 5 A*-C including English & Mathematics, progress levels continue to improve. Levels of progress in English are well above the national average.

The school was described by OFSTED as a ‘Good’ school with ‘dynamic leadership’, ‘high quality teaching’ and effective support systems. (Ofsted 2013)
