Job overview

We are seeking a well-qualified and experienced teacher of English who can lead development of Literacy across the curriculum and support the Director of Learning to achieve excellence at all Key Stages across the ability range. Results in English language at GCSE are above the national average and are projected to improve yet again this summer. The Faculty is a vibrant and creative department where teamwork and a can do attitude pervade, and this role will suit a motivated and dedicated individual who is looking for more responsibility.
 
In June 2014 Longfield Academy was judged by Ofsted as a 'Good' school in all categories. The Academy has a beautiful, £26m learning environment. Our academic results have increased rapidly. It is now heavily over-subscribed in all years and has a large and growing Sixth Form. The Academy has a specialised ASD provision.
