Due to the promotion of the previous Deputy Head of Department, St Columba's are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic teacher of Maths who will transfer their passion for learning and mathematics to our students.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high achieving department. Ofsted recognised that the department has achieved results higher than the National Average for some years. The successful applicant will join a department that is keen to continue the success story and share their drive and ambition. The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of the changes to the Curriculum and the exciting possibilities this provides. They will be keen to make a difference and have a genuine impact on the teaching and learning of Maths.
The position is permanent, full time Main Scale and offered with a TLR 2B point. Ofsted found in September 2014 that St Columba's is a good school and that students’ Behaviour and Safety was outstanding and this is reflected by the fastest growing numbers of admissions in Bexley. Our boys are highly aspirational and Ofsted said they "… behave exceptionally well and have very positive attitudes towards their learning.
They are respectful and courteous towards visitors, staff and each other." Visitors to the school are welcomed. St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School is a mainstream, Catholic secondary school in Bexleyheath, Kent. This state academy caters to boys aged 11 to 16 and has approximately 800 students.
St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School was founded on 7th May 1973. The lower and upper schools were combined in June 1990. In 2005, £5 million was spent on building the new John Paul II teaching block, which included a new sports hall. Since September 2006, the school has had specialist status in performing and visual arts. It has its own theatre and has achieved the Artsmark Gold award.
