We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and inspiring Deputy Head of Maths, who has a real passion for the subject, to join a supportive and well-resourced department.

The Whitehaven Academy is a mixed 11 – 18 comprehensive school in West Cumbria, with 800 students on role, including over 110 in the Post-16 Centre. The school is a highly inclusive, vibrant and exciting place in which to learn and work.

The Maths Department is working hard to support the academy’s improvement through a range of innovative strategies and curriculum development.

Whitehaven Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Whitehaven, Cumbria. There are approximately 621 students at the school between the ages of 11-18.

Formerly Whitehaven School, Whitehaven Academy converted to academy status in 2014. It is sponsored by charitable Bright Tribe Trust along with four secondary schools and eight primary schools across Suffolk, Cumbria, Essex, Cornwall and Greater Manchester.
