Deputy Head (Primary)

As a key member of the Senior Leadership team at Nord Anglia International School, Dubai the Deputy Head will work with the Principal and Heads of the school to deliver an outstanding education to children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  You will be a significant contributor to the overall strategic direction of the school.

NAS Dubai is a new school, having opened in September 2014 but has already established itself as one of the leading international schools in Dubai. We currently have over 700 students on roll with over 1000 students enrolled for September 2015.   Our student population is currently aged between 3 and 13 years old (FS1 to Year 8) with Years 9 and 10 launching in September 2015.  We follow a curriculum based on the English National Curriculum (new framework) which is taught by our strong team of mainly UK qualified teachers, many of whom have previously worked in other NAE schools.

The ideal candidate will hold the equivalent of UK Qualified Teacher Status with a minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience, an in-depth knowledge of the English National Curriculum and an up to date knowledge of best practice in teaching strategies.  A secure understanding of the changing face of assessment is essential.

The role of Deputy Head of Primary is focused on assisting the Head of Primary to ensure a high quality education for our pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  Key aspects of the role involve teaching & learning, curriculum, assessment and performance management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be skilled at leading people and teams, building systems and processes and monitoring & evaluating the impact of our work. The role is ideally suited to a candidate with aspirations towards Headship.
