Job overview
As a key member of the Senior Leadership team at Nord Anglia International School, Dubai the will work with the Principal and Heads of the school to deliver an outstanding education to children in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. You will be a significant contributor to the overall strategic direction of the school.
NAS Dubai is a new school, having opened in September 2014 but has already established itself as one of the leading international schools in Dubai. We currently have over 700 students on roll with over 1000 students enrolled for September 2015. Our student population is currently aged between 3 and 13 years old (FS1 to Year 8) with Years 9 and 10 launching in September 2015. We follow a curriculum based on the English National Curriculum (new framework) which is taught by our strong team of mainly UK qualified teachers, many of whom have previously worked in other NAE schools.
The ideal candidate will hold the equivalent of UK Qualified Teacher Status with a minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience, an in-depth knowledge of the English National Curriculum and an up to date knowledge of best practice in teaching strategies. A secure understanding of the changing face of assessment is essential.
The successful candidate will have a record of leading successful whole school change, and indirect leadership. A secure understanding and experience in the management and analysis of pupil data, tracking and assessment to support pupil progress and attainment is a vital part of the role. The new Deputy Head must demonstrate the capacity to create a vision for the education of the students of NAS Dubai that is creative, fosters innovation and incorporates the most forward thinking ideas in education that focuses upon the learner. The Deputy Head should demonstrate the ability to foster high academic standards with a strong planning and organisational ability. It is expected that the Deputy Head will actively support and articulate the values and character building principles of NAS Dubai.
