The Falkland Islands Government - Education Department responsible for the Falkland Islands Community School is seeking to recruit a Deputy Head Teacher (Secondary) to start in September 2015

Applicants with experience of working as a Deputy Head Teacher who can start in January 2016 are also welcome to apply.

This is a unique opportunity to live and work overseas, within an English school system.

Our well established Secondary School is seeking to recruit an individual who is experienced, enthusiastic, creative, and driven to take the role of Deputy Head Teacher in September 2015.  The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team to lead the wider team and build upon the school’s recent progress towards becoming a good school.

We are looking for a Deputy Head Teacher who:

  • Generates a sense of purpose and maintains a positive attitude to secure continuous improvement
  • Successfully leads teams and whole school initiatives
  • Believes in child centred education
  • Demonstrates outstanding practice
  • Positively influences the quality of teaching and learning through effective monitoring and assessment alongside supportive coaching and mentoring
  • Analyses data to inform resource deployment and professional development needs
