We are looking to recruit a dynamic Deputy Head of School for September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with vision, creativity and a passion for providing excellent opportunities for young people with SEND to work with our dedicated central team to grow and establish a new and expanding school. We are looking for someone with leadership experience who can establish a strong positive culture that enables our pupils, staff and families to feel connected to the school and its vision to ‘Love, Learn, Laugh’.

The Rise Partnership Trust currently a trust of 2 outstanding special schools, Wembley Manor is the third school to be established. RPT is ambitious for its’ pupils and staff and actively prepares for future opportunities. This is a truly exciting role because the school is currently small and presents significant opportunities for a leader to bring their own ideas and expertise to making the school a truly inspiring learning environment.

 Wembley Manor is a growing secondary Free School. By September 2024 we will have 60 pupils on roll in Years 7, 8 and 9. We offer our pupils a holistic educational provision to promote an understanding of the wider world in preparation for adulthood.

Job Purpose

·     To provide a high quality education provision in line with RPT vision and values. Contributing to the strategic management of the school; working with the CEO and Executive Director of Schools to set challenging and aspirational whole school targets

·    Overseeing the operational management of the school on a day to day basis

·    Leading on teaching, learning and assessment across the school, providing the necessary opportunities to ensure the highest of standards are maintained in the classroom and in student outcomes.

·        Leading on effective behaviour and inclusion, ensuring that the needs of all students are met within and beyond the classroom.

·        Ensuring pupils are safeguarded effectively both within school and in the wider world.

 

As a member of the Trust’s Leadership Group, you will need to meet these general expectations:

·        To collaborate in order to build and realise the shared vision of excellence and high standards

·        To contribute actively towards the formulation and implementation of all academy policies and procedures

·        To ensure high quality teaching and learning

·        To attend academy leadership meetings

·        To engage in the process of appointing new staff

·        To participate in duties lunch/break/before and after school

·        To contribute to assemblies/whole school gatherings

·        To share in the management of behaviour

·        To actively participate in the monitoring, evaluation and review of teaching and learning

Essential Criteria

We would like to hear from you if you have:

·        QTS and a good undergraduate degree (or equivalent)

·        Minimum of two years' experience at senior leadership level in SEND

·        Experience of delivering high quality INSET to staff

·        Have an understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and promote opportunities for all

·        Evidence of leading, supporting and managing others, both individuals and teams, ensuring high quality performance

·        Successful experience of processes of monitoring, evaluation and review

·        Good level of IT skills

·        Recent experience of involvement in curriculum development

·        Experience of presenting to a wide audience

·        Experience of embedding innovative strategies for improving teaching and learning in a whole school situation

·        Experience of managing and implementing change successfully at whole school level
