Queensmead is an ‘outstanding’, oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school where students make outstanding progress and display ‘exemplary behaviour’ (OFSTED). Our focus is always on maximising student outcomes, supporting staff to raise student achievement and developing teaching and learning that engages and motivates students.

We seek a talented and committed practitioner, with experience of designing a school curriculum, to join our Senior Leadership Team.

Queensmead students are aspirational and have positive attitudes to learning. There is a well developed culture within the school where the highest expectations are placed on students. The students response to this is demonstrated by the progress they make from starting Year 7 to the end of Year 11. In 2014 the progress made by Queensmead students was in the top 6% of schools nationally.

Values and Vision

Queensmead School strives to maintain a learning environment where students can reach their maximum potential, wherever their skills may lie. Technology is a key part of the education environment, with devices such as visualisers, iPads and Chromebooks a regular classroom feature. There is also a strong emphasis on attendance and punctuality, with these qualities seen as essential to the learning process and academic endeavour.

Queensmead offers students the chance to participate in activities such as music tuition and sports, with facilities including basketball courts, a fitness zone and access to five-a-side football pitches. International experiences offered to secondary students include language development in France, Germany and Spain, trekking excursions in Morocco, and skiing in Italy and Austria.
