Dormers Wells High School is an 11-18 mixed, multi-cultural comprehensive school. We are an Investors in People school and professional development is at the heart of our work. Ofsted 2012 stated ‘All students receive outstanding academic and pastoral support and quickly settle in this most calm and harmonious school’. A multi million pound PFI rebuilding was completed in autumn 2012 to provide state of the art facilities for students, staff and the local community; we also have a specialist provision for 15 Hearing Impaired students.

Due to the forthcoming retirement of the present Deputy Headteacher after many years of exceptional service to the school, the Governors are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who will:

  • Be able to lead and inspire a highly professional, stable and committed staff and motivate students to achieve their potential
  • Have experience of improving the quality of teaching and learning
  • The ability to articulate a clear vision and philosophy of education
  • Have an extensive knowledge of inclusion and pastoral issues
  • Be able to think strategically and creatively and have an exciting vision for the school
  • Be hardworking, energetic and highly motivated to meet new challenges
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Be able to maintain our high level of performance
